Mood MenderBackground:A long time client made a disturbing comment to me that fully one-half of the people of all ages that she knew were on some type of prescription anti-depressant. At first I thought she was kidding but upon further questioning I found she was not. This seemed like an alarmingly high number. I was determined to find if there was any validity in her statement, or if she just happened to know a lot of depressed people. After doing research, I was stunned to find out the truth. Eleven million plus Americans are newly reported to have "depression" each year. The number of prescriptions written for mood enhancers and depression lifters is even far greater for the same period of time. My client was right. A huge number of people are on these substances. A recent survey indicated that nearly on-half of the US population had undergone a serious, diagnosable psychiatric condition. What exactly is depression? To say that many numbers of us will suffer some level of mental illness may seem like an overstatement, but that is because you may be thinking of it only in its most extreme way. There appears to be two categories. The first is minor depression. This type sometimes lack the symptom of depressed mood. The three most common symptoms of this lesser form of depression are sleep disturbances, fatigue, and thoughts of death. You are more familiar with the second type. Symptoms are anger, irritability, anxieties, phobias, extreme moodiness, manic-depression (bipolar), violence, weight gains and losses, mental ability reduced, excessive and/or inappropriate guilt. One in a hundred people is diagnosed as suffering from schizophrenia. Mood Mender is aimed at rebalancing the brain nutritionally and to stabilize it by a totally natural method. In no way am I recommending that anyone stop taking any drug whatsoever or stop seeing their medical doctor for any type of mental imbalance. This is merely a nutritional adjunct that may also help. Other products that will complement Mood Mender are B Well and At EEZ. DESCRIPTION OF INGREDIENTS
1. L-Glutamine This is the primary ingredient in Mood Mender. It is the most abundant free amino acid found in the muscles. It can pass the bloodbrain barrier and converts into glutamic acid which is essential for cerebral function. Clinically, L-glutamine is the best nutrient I have seen for all types of depressions, manias, moods and even lesser depression symptoms. 2. Dimethylaminoethanol (DMAE) This B-vitamin is a substance for the central nervous system. It is excellent for depression, anxiety, and hyperactivity. Clinically, it is very effective when properly combined with L-glutamine. 3. St. John’s Wort This herb has reached legendary heights of popularity for all types of mild to moderate depression. Research indicates it is also beneficial for viral infections. Combined with SAM-e, DMAE and L-glutamine, this substance creates a balance through the four elements. 4. SAM-e Recent information states that SAM-e is good for mental disturbances. I have not seen this substance help much by itself, but balanced with other ingredients there is an enhanced action. 5. L-Taurine Has a protective effect on the brain. It is used to treat anxiety, epilepsy, hyperactivity and poor brain function. I use it to increase permeability across the blood brain barrier and strengthen brain wave patterns. 6-8. L-Phenylalanine, L-Tyrosine, & Methionine The most important book anyone can read on depression and schizophrenia is written by Carl Pfeiffer, M.D. called “Nutrition and Mental Illness.” In this work he categorizes these problems into five biotypes. Mood Mender should address all of these types. Phenylalanine converts to L-tyrosine which synthesizes two key neurotransmitters: dopamine and norepinephrine. These elevate moods. Methionine is used for brain allergies and for another category he calls histadelic with high histamine levels. Methionine causes excretion of excess histamine. Dr. Pfeiffer particularly likes the effects of these amino acids. 9. Lithium Aspartate Dr. Pfeiffer states that very low doses can also relieve depression. I am only using a very small amount here. This creates no side-effect and is very needed by the brain. I use it mostly for the digestive system and brain function, not as a clinical anti-depressant. 10. 5-HTP-Tryptophan Has a long history (25 years) of helping depression, aggression, irritability and emotional disorders. This type is legal in the U.S. I have watched it work well. 11. Isoleucine Works with depression. Assists in digestion. 12. Fo-Ti-Tieng An ancient brain food for mental depression. Called the “Long Life Elixir.” Is said to contain Vitamin (Y)outh. This one really clears the mind. Used in Ayurvedic medicine and some in China. 13,14. Zinc Gluconate and Vitamin B6 Dr. Pfeiffer insists that people with a certain kind of schizophrenia with high levels of pyrroles need these nutrients. Includes 30 percent of schizophrenics. 15. L-Glutamic Acid Used to assist L-Glutamine uptake. 16. Potassium Aspartate According to Dr. Reams, it is a primary brain food. Known to be good for nerve impulses to the brain. 17. DHA An essential fatty acid. Used here to increase blood-brain permeability. 18. Ribonucleic Acid (RNA) Goes to the brain. Helps with memory. Important for cellular information transfer. 19. Sodium Bicarbonate Needed to balance the pH of this formula. Also balances the ratio to potassium. 20. L-Dopamine Important in relaxation of the brain and helps with moods. A neurotransmitter. 21-27. Calcium Gluconate, Manganese Gluconate, Folic Acid, & Vitamins B12 All recommended to nutritionally rebalance the different forms of depression and schizophrenias by Dr. Carl Pfeiffer. 28. Molybdenum Lowers copper excesses which are a part of the problem for some types of schizophrenias such as those with low histamine, as described by Dr. Pfeiffer. 29. 74 Trace Mineral Mix Used to balance the Earth element in Mood Mender. Also recommended by Dr. Pfeiffer. 30. Dragon Bone Helps with calcium uptake and has a calming effect. Used in Chinese Medicine. 31. Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) Used here to coordinate the four elements in Mood Mender. It is said this form of sulphur is needed by every cell. 32. Biotin Known to help depression. 33. Iodine Stops uncontrollable crying. Elevates the mood. Only a very minute amount added. Supports the fire element. 34-37. Lipase, Amylase, Protease, & Peppermint Oil. These are digestive enzymes and support to make this formula dissolve and assimilate properly through the gut. Information on this product was obtained from Dr. Baroody's Product Information Guide.
