My Philosophy on Massage
I've been doing massage now for about 18 years. I've seen a lot
of people on my table and if I counted the number of trigger points
released, or the number of times I've dug, prodded, smoothed,
shaped, pried, flushed or manipulated muscles - well, I'd be
counting longer than I have time for! There is one philosophy among
people and therapists that says "no pain, no gain." - I don't
believe that. I have seen much greater effect when you take someone
to the edge of that pain and work with them to melt the muscle. You
know the saying, "Ah, it hurts but it still feels good." - That is
the edge and quite frankly, it's a blissful place to be. It can make
you feel alive and relieved all in the same moment.
So although I am a very deep therapist (both physically and
metaphorically speaking), you can be assured that you will not be
taken any further into the realm of pain than what will still feel
good. It is when you are able to still breathe while I am working
that you will receive the biggest results.
Each session is a unique experience as well, a blend of different
modalities based on what you need on that day. I may solicit a gamut
of 5 different techniques if I think it will help you in the way you
need help that day. It may be a more fluid, deep, intentional
session to relieve specific muscles or it may be a fluid, flowing,
intentional massage aimed at calming your nervous system and giving
you an hour to simply be - whatever the need, I will do whatever
possible to assure you have a quality experience. |
